Pianos
There are two main factors to look for when shopping for a digital piano—the number of keys. A piano has 88 keys and covers a wide range of notes. Some keyboards have fewer keys, like 61 keys. We recommend the full 88, but you can start with something smaller and upgrade later.
The other factor to consider is key weight. Fully weighted keys on a digital piano mimic the resistance and feel of a traditional acoustic piano, offering a more authentic playing experience that closely resembles pressing down on real piano keys. Some digital pianos have semi-weighted keys, which have a lighter touch and less resistance, making them a bit easier for beginners but less realistic compared to the real thing. While fully weighted keys tend to be more expensive, they provide a more genuine feel.
